John Morrell is introducing two new product lines that are available at select grocery retailers across the country. The products – Bistro Naturals and Off the Bone Tub Lunchmeats – aim to fill a gap in the sausage and lunchmeat categories, as well as strive to meet consumer demand.
Bistro Naturals

The new Bistro Naturals line includes an all-natural sausage with no artificial ingredients, colors, or flavors. This allergen- and gluten-free meat product will attract the nutrition-conscious customer as it enters the natural foods category – one that has grown 35% in the last five years. In 2006 alone, more than 4,200 new natural items were introduced to the market. In addition, natural products are outpacing all other healthy trends - including low fat, low sodium, preservative-free and organic - by more than 34% in total dollar volume. Bistro Naturals products are unmatched because their flavor, texture, and appearance are superior to the leading share brands due to high quality ingredients and processes.

John Morrell’s Bistro Naturals product line includes four tasty options. The 14-oz. Loop Smoked Sausage and 12-oz. Skinless Smoked Sausage are each available in three flavors: Smoked, Beef Smoked, and Polska Kielbasa. The natural beef hot dogs deliver the same great flavor found in the finest franks, while eliminating the unwanted nitrites and nitrates. And the cocktail smokies, available in beef smoked and smoked flavors, ensure a firm, meaty bite and consistent, plump links.
Bistro Naturals are available at 125 Costco stores, as well as Wal-Mart, Harris Teeter, Jewel-Osco, Safeway and others.

Off the Bone Tub Lunchmeats
John Morrell’s Off the Bone product line offers hearty, thick-sliced sandwich meats packaged in a premium tub. Currently, tub lunchmeat represents 22% of category dollar sales. Off the Bone Homestyle Carved Meats provide more variety within this category versus the shaved or ultra thin offerings.

Off the Bone products look and taste like they were carved right from your holiday ham or turkey. All products are 90% fat free or better and use natural juices to provide premium taste and seal in the flavor. Thicker sliced Off the Bone lunch meat is available in the three top selling varieties: Honey Ham, Smoked Ham, and Oven Roasted Turkey. Off the Bone products are available at grocers across the United States.
